Juan-Pablo Torres appointed new CEO of MASA Group

Paris/France and Cologne (ITEC 2011)– May 10th, 2011 — MASA Group, a leading provider of advanced software solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for modeling and simulation, today announced the appointment of Juan-Pablo Torres as the new CEO of MASA Group. Pablo will lead the company to further expand the international reach of MASA Group on the growing markets of modeling and simulation for both the defense and homeland security/public safety markets.

Patrick Samama, former CEO of MASA Group, remains member of the company’s Board of Directors and will contribute to the development of the company as a Senior Advisor to the CEO on strategic topics. “I am proud to have contributed to MASA Group’s growth from a local leader in training solutions for military command staff to its current position as an established global software provider in the modeling and simulation market” added Patrick Samama. “Pablo has led the international development of the company and will further expand MASA Group’s global reach leveraging his international experience. I look forward to continuing my contribution as a member of the Board of Directors.”

Before his appointment as MASA Group’s CEO, Pablo led the international development of MASA Group outside of its traditional markets. Prior to joining MASA Group, Pablo led the business development activities for Mobile Broadcast technologies in Southern Europe and the Americas for Alcatel-Lucent Ventures.

Pablo has broad experience in defining and implementing go-to-market strategies for disruptive technologies. His background includes market and financial research for the space telecommunications industry, financial modeling of market behaviors in the French banking sector, as well as other management positions in large industrial corporations. He has also consulted with the US government on geopolitical technology analyses and international strategic partnerships.

Pablo is a graduate from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, holds an Engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique in France, and a Masters degree in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA.
