Challenges
Manager’s Studio is a serious game developed in 2004 by MASA Group for Cegos, the European leader in professional education, to train project managers in a virtual office environment. In this application, the student must learn to manage a team of consultants that behave as real professionals and exhibit unique personalities.
As today’s technology enables each individual to have access to self-training and remote teaching, MASA Group ambitions to revolutionize this field by delivering to each student a personal training experience. This training focuses on documented procedures or good practices used in companies in day-to-day operations. These procedures are in fact the equivalent in the corporate world of a military doctrine. By capitalizing on its experience of using decisional AI in military training, MASA Group brings to companies training technologies that help managers to make better decision faster.
Solution
Using MASA Group proprietary decision engine, DirectIA, Manager’s Studio simulates a complete work environment in which autonomous agents act as staff members, each with their own expertise profile, personality and preferences.
The trainees are required to manage and allocate work to staff so as to complete as many projects as possible on time and budget. In doing this, they must also take into account each client's tolerance to quality and delay, the importance of each client and the workload assigned to each staff member. Several work environments can be chosen.
With frequent use of Manager’s Studio, trainees develop their skills in various aspects of project management (priority settings, anticipation, work allocation, information sharing, collaboration with other managers, and conflict resolution). It also allows trainees to analyze their behavior after a simulation, thanks to a specific after-action-review (aka debriefing) tool.
For the first time, a managerial simulation is available to train the middle management. Manager’s Studio is the first training tool that can reproduce the full complexity of management situations thanks to DirectIA intelligent agents.
