PERSEIDES

Challenges

PERSEIDES CBRN scenarioPERSEIDES is part of an initial study of the global architecture for CBRN defense, commissioned by the French Army procurement agency (DGA). MASA Sword simulation was selected as the analysis tool of choice to run and assess scenarios for CBRN architecture evaluation. The project was lead by Thales Land & Joint, on behalf of Thales Security. The final experimentation phase occured in April 2009.

Solution

The PERSEIDES demonstration aims at enhancing MASA Sword simulation with several features to be used for analysis:

  • Exploit third-party simulation data to enhance CBRN cloud propagation models.
  • Update every unit contamination and intoxication status according its CBRN protection and exposure data.
  • Enable specification of new indicators dedicated to CBRN (such as evolution of mean contamination).
  • Assess indicators in real-time and not only during after-action-review.
  • Export indicator-generated information to external analysis tools.

Key Benefits

  • Ease MASA Sword integration with third-party physical models providing accurate CBRN data.
  • Enhance indicators specification and live computation.
  • Enhance dedicated CBRN behaviors.
